Is cinema an art we ask? Should it be entertaining or message serving? Should it appeal to masses or entice cults? Should it let us escape to a fantasy or guide us to realize certain realities? In essence cinema but mirrors the many facets of the society. At Kala Ghoda Arts Festival this year come and experience cinema across genres and timelines. The program will span across four beautiful venues - Coomaraswamy Hall, Max Mueller Bhavan, BNHS, Gallery Beyond.

Our thematic for the 2014 festival is ‘FLASH FORWARD’.

Short Film Competition Prize Distribution

Actress/Producer and former Miss India Dia Mirza will be the Chief Guest for the 'Chase' Short Film Competition prize distribution ceremony.

It will be judged by

1. Mr.Murli Chhatwani : Head of Distribution at Dar Motion Pictures,producers of this year's hit films such as 'The Lunch Box' , 'D-Day' and 'Mickey Virus' and Anurag Kashyap's upcoming directorial venture 'Ugly' and also the ones who brought 'The Dark Knight Rises' to India. Murli has also worked as head of distribution at Cinergy and Studio 18. He has worked on such landmark films as Om Shanti Om, Ghajini, Singh is King and the Golmaal franchise.

2. Veteran film critic and journo Udita Jhunjhunwala! she has written and worked for Hindustan Times,Mid Day,Mint,Screen International ,BBC Asian Network,New Indian Express,Vogue,AFP and co-written a host of cinema books!

3. Parvin Dabas: actor/director and Cinema head of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. He has done quite a few cult films such as Khosla Ka Ghosla,Monsoon Wedding and My Name is Khan and will next be seen in the upcoming Ragini MMS-2 . He has also directed a critically acclaimed film 'Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande' and is currently working on his next.
