Learn more about arts, lifestyle, photography, dance, cinema, theatre, music and food with Workshops at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival.
Masters from respective fields come together, to conduct a variety of workshops every day through the course of the festival and are for all ages, mostly adults. Conducted at Artisans’, Artists' Centre and Gallery ICIA. The workshops REQUIRE NO REGISTRATION, and participants are welcome on FIRST CUM FIRST SERVE BASIS.
Our thematic for the 2014 festival is ‘ACCELERATION’.

STAINED GLASS WITH ASAD HAJEEBHOY

12.00pm - 1.30pm at ARTISTS' CENTRE

Asad Hajeebhoy has built Glasscrafters on his experience of working in the art of stained glass in Mumbai. 

 

 

 

Experience a heritage walk with Sanaeya Vandrewala at 2.30 pm. From St. Thomas Cathedral to Cathedral of the Holy Name (Wodehouse Church, Colaba).

 

Registrations to be done before the walk at the Registration Desk at Artists' Centre and token to be collected between 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

Note: Only 1 token would be handed over to one person. No email registrations would be accepted.

VIJAYALAKSHMI NACHIAR - BEHIND THE LABEL ABOUT COTTON - FARM TO FASHION

12.00pm - 2.00pm at ARTISANS'

Vijayalakshmi is an M.A. in Textiles and is co-owner of 'Ethicus', one of India's first organic and ethical fashion brands.  She is involved in reviving  handlooms and travels all over the globe to spread awareness about ethical consumerism. The workshop will focus on 'cotton' as the one fiber which is so much part of our lives, culture and politics, and its trail from the farm to the consumer.

PRACHEEN - VEGETABLE DYES

2.30pm - 4.00pm at ARTISTS' CENTRE

The fine art of hand block printing and dyeing in  vegetable colors. Do the earth a favour, don't pollute the environment. Use natural dyes.
