WORKSHOPS—an ambiguous title which hides in its folds nuggets from the fields of art, music, film, dance, literature, photography, fitness, cartooning and much more.
WORKSHOPS is like the proverbial salt—simple, unassuming and discrete, but miss WORKSHOPS and you miss the flavours of the Festival!
It brings together dancers, musicians, writers, jewellery makers, waste upcyclers, painters and intellectuals to add to the spirit of KGAF17 and take it to new heights. The aim is to introduce participants to new experiences which leave them more enriched in mind and body.
WORKSHOPS at KGAF17 will be held at five venues: ARTISTS’ CENTRE, ARTISANS’, JEHANGIR ART GALLERY, DAVID SASOON LIBRARY GARDEN and SOMAIYA CENTRE FOR LIFELONG LEARNING. Entry to all the workshops is free and there is no pre-registration. The entire programme will be available on the KGAF website with all the necessary information.
Come and be a part of this eclectic experience. This year’s WORKSHOPS theme is “Satrang” wherein we celebrate life and all its colours and bring you a variety of enriching interactive experiences.
This year’s lineup includes celebrity dietician Rujuta Diwekar talking about the art and science of eating right, Argentinian mural artist Pablo Ramirez working on a single thematic mural, graphic novelist Sarnath Banerjee talking about the uncanny science of comics and Dr. Aditya Raghavan physicist and cheese maker making and talking about cheeses.
Our tag line–”In everything that must be done, there is an element of fun”—immortalised in the classic “Mary Poppins” perfectly sums up the spirit and soul of WORKSHOPS and the KGAF17.
